BM07 - FIP2 - French Beamline for Investigation of Proteins

FIP2 (French beamline for Investigation of Proteins) is located on a Bending Magnet section 07 (BM07) of ESRF. It is especially dedicated to crystallography of biological macromolecules. This beamline can be used either for standard diffraction or for multiwavelength diffraction, using anomalous dispersion.
Its optics can deliver a focused beam on a fixed sample position in a large energy range (6-20 keV. The beam size can be adjusted between 100 x 100 and 500 x 500 µm2.
FIP2 offers the following capabilities:
- High-throughput screening of cryocooled crystals
- (Multiwavelength) anomalous diffraction experiments
- On-line UV-Vis absorption microspectrophotometry
- Room temperature (humidity-controlled) experiments
The FIP2 sample storage dewar accepts Unipuck standard exclusively (up to 17 pucks at a time). All loops must be mounted on B5 base (Spine type) with 21 mm pin length.
The beamline control is performed by the popular "MXCuBE3 " interface to be consistent with other similar beamlines around the world. Sample (meta)data are handled and stored by ISPyB.
