Missing 'readline.so' on Silicon Graphics Irix Systems

Unfortunately the Silicon Graphics Irix (6.5) version of FIT2D needs a shared object (.so) library file to work. If you do not have 'libreadline.so' installed you will get an error message when you start FIT2D, similar to the following:
5620:./fit2d_10.132_sgirix_6.5: rld: Fatal Error: Cannot Successfully map soname
'libreadline.so' under any of the filenames /usr/freeware/lib/libreadline.so:/o
pt/mx/lib/libreadline.so:/usr/lib/libreadline.so:/usr/lib/internal/libreadline.s
o:/lib/libreadline.so:/lib/cmplrs/cc/libreadline.so:/usr/lib/cmplrs/cc/libreadli
ne.so:/opt/lib/libreadline.so:/usr/freeware/lib/libreadline.so.4:/opt/mx/lib/lib
readline.so.4:/usr/lib/libreadline.so.4:/usr/lib/internal/libreadline.so.4:/lib/
libreadline.so.4:/lib/cmplrs/cc/libreadline.so.4:/usr/lib/cmplrs/cc/libreadline.
so.4:/opt/lib/libreadline.so.4:

To overcome this problem install the 'readline' library, or alternatively you can copy 'libreadline.so.4' from the directory containing FIT2D executables, and put this library into '/usr/freeware/lib32'. Then FIT2D should be able to start-up.
