iNEXT meets Industry workshop
iNEXT is a consortium funded by the Horizon2020 program that is pioneering coordinated access to infrastructures for macromolecular crystallography, SAXS, NMR, electron microscopy, advanced light microscopy and biophysics. In addition to access, the consortium has established ambitious collaborative structural biology research programs to develop advanced methodologies for ligand screening, the study of membrane proteins and acquiring structural information in the context of the living cell.
The field of structural biology is going through a major revolution, enabling the study of ever more challenging targets with molecular detail and contributing to the development of biomedical applications. Multiple structure-based and biophysical approaches are now well established in industry as major tools contributing to drug development and an ever growing number of academic labs are currently applying these approaches to help develop chemical tools for research. On the other hand new methods, like those based on electron microscopy and high throughput fragment screening are rapidly changing the field.
The aim of this workshop is to provide a meeting ground for scientists in industry and academia with a focus on translating structural biology research into biomedical applications.
The meeting will include keynote lectures presenting the state of the art in academia and industry as well as presentations on new technologies and access opportunities within iNEXT. Abstracts from participants will be selected for oral presentations.
Registration to the event is free of charge.
The "iNEXT meets Industry" workshop will be preceded by the 3rd Annual User Meeting from 19th to 21st March.
