Running FIT2D on Windows Systems
On Windows systems you may either run FIT2D from a command window
as on Unix systems, or click on a FIT2D icon. If necessary FIT2D will open a ``terminal window'' for text output, and keyboard input.
The terminal window can contain important information and messages, so even
when using the graphical user interface this should be kept visible.
Command line options are specified with forward slashes in DOS and
Windows. Thus if you want FIT2D to start-up with arrays of size
1024 by 768, the command:
fit2d /dim1024x768
could be used (See Section 20,
Page for further details on command line options).
Creating a FIT2D Icon on Windows Systems
To make the start-up of FIT2D easier, you can create a desktop icon.
I do this by:
- Find the FIT2D executable with ``Explorer''
- Right button click on the FIT2D icon and drag to the desk-top.
- A pop-up menu should appear, and click on Create Shortcuts Here
(or the equivalent for non-English versions of Windows).
- This will create the short cut icon on the desk-top, which will have the
text Shortcut to fit2d.exe or something similar or equivalent. This may
be changed, by right-button clicking on the icon and selecting Rename.
You can then edit the text as you desire.
- Right-mouse-button clicking on blank desk-top will allow you to arrange
the icons.
