The FReLoN Camera
Fast Readout Low Noise
Introduction
The FReLoN camera is a 14 bit dynamic CCD camera, with a 2048*2048 pixel chip.
This camera has been developped by the 'Analog and Transient Electronic' ESRF group.

The complete detection device
If you want to use the FReLoN camera, you will have to considere the complete detection device:
- a shutter (a CCD camera mustn't be exposed during its reading time)
- an x-ray/visible light converter
-
an optic system
The camera pixel size is 14 microns, but for users, it depends on the used optics.
We have 10 optic systems available for microtomography.
And since October 2007, an "Optique Peter" optic revolver system
is also available on High Resolution microtomograph.
- the FReLoN itself: 2k14 model
- the software acquisition aspect (SPEC)
At the moment, in special conditions we can perform a scan in 16s (400 views, FTM mode, binning mode and roi 512x512).
