Setting up your E-Mail client (other than Thunderbird)
This short guide will help you how to set-up your e-mail client on smartphones, tablets, and non-Windows computers without Thunderbird installed.
Please note that all these devices are not supported by ESRF.
Feel free to use for the ESRF mail account (with your site username):
- Incoming Mail Server: imaps.esrf.fr - server port 993
- Outgoing Mail Server: smtps.esrf.fr - server port 465 (instead of 25 in some configurations)
Both servers have to be configured in SSL mode (the trailing 's' in imaps and smtps stands for 'secure' because traffic is encrypted in SSL mode) and with authentication using your site password.
Once you have finished the set-up, check that your changes have been correctly saved and taken into account. Problems have been encountered with Apple where only one server has been updated.
