The ESRFnews focuses on how nature produces energy

Synchrotron radiation techniques are playing an important role in the studies of the way nature produces energy. The current ESRFnews shows three examples of these studies: Fischer-Tropsch catalysis, photosynthesis and the first enzyme that produces energy in our bodies.

The issue also features an update on the upgrade, with the approved new floor plan and the new buildings that will change the look of the site in the next years. Other news include a story on how the ESRF dealt with the consequences of the volcanic ash in the European airspace, a portrait on Hassan Belrhali and the new beamline BM14 and the disappearance of the bicycles in the Experimental hall.
