ESRF Council condemns aggression against Ukraine
across borders as a driver for peaceful growth and democracy, and against the European values at the origin of the establishment of the ESRF . They also expressed the council s full support to and its solidarity with the people of Ukraine, the many refugees, and the victims of [the] war . The ESRF council has suspended the establishment of new scientific and technical collaborations between the ESRF and institutes
in the Russian Federation, the invitation of Russian organisations to participate in ESRF advisory bodies and any ESRF participation in events organised by the Russian Federation or Russian organisations. The ESRF Council and Management will continue to carefully monitor the situation, in order to envisage any further measures, as and when appropriate, the statement read.
The ESRF Council has condemned without reserve the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation in an extraordinary meeting held on 22 March. With the exception of the Russian Federation representative, who declined to participate, the representatives of the ESRF s member countries agreed in a statement that Russia s invasion goes against the ESRF s core principles of scientific cooperation
