Preparing for your experiment
Get in touch with your local contact at an early stage of your preparations in order to discuss any technical details associated with your experiment and to clarify what apparatus, lab equipment/supplies you intend to use. If you are a returning user and hope to replicate a previous experiment but have a different local contact, make sure they are aware of what you did/the procedures you have used.
Do not forget that as well as bringing the samples and perhaps sample environment with you, the data will need to be transported back to your home laboratory. For multigigabyte datasets you should discuss the issues involved with your local contact.
See the pages of the user office for further details.
When you arrive, you must carry out the mandatory safety training before carrying out any work on the beamline.
