High Pressure Laboratory

The Sample Environment Support Service, High Pressure Laboratory (SESS-HP) is open for all beamlines doing Diamond Anvil Cell (DAC) experiments at the ESRF.

This fully equipped DAC-preparation laboratory is situated in sector 21.0.12&13.

• Users can use the laboratory to prepare their own cells or ones on loan from the SESS-HP loan pool.
• The SESS-HP loan pool has either manual pressure drives (BETSA) or automatic pressure drives (Sanchez Technologies).
• The lab has Olympus microscopes with digital cameras attached to take pictures of the sample.
• A laser drill facility and an EDM (electro-erosion drilling) are available for drilling gaskets
• The Gas Loading System (Sanchez Technologies) makes it possible to have gas loaded sample environments.
