Hub for materials development for recycling A new EU-funded project aiming to use 50 analytical research infrastructures, including the ESRF, to design new materials that are both competitively functional and highly recyclable launched in September. ReMade@ARI is focused on leveraging the development of innovative and sustainable materials for the circular economy.
8th ESRF-ILL Summer School On 4 September, students from around the world joined the 8th international student summer programme organised by the ESRF and the ILL. Students followed a series of introductory lectures on the principles and applications of X-ray and neutron science and worked on scientific projects, tutored by ESRF or ILL scientists.
ID29 welcomes first users The brand-new serial synchrotron crystallography beamline, ID29, one of the EBS s flagship beamlines, welcomed its first users in October, for three different experiments. They all focused on ways of scanning thousands of minuscule crystals (smaller than 10 microns) effectively with the new, powerful EBS beam.
