The courses are mainly addressed to PhD students enrolled in a doctoral program of a European University, and postdoctoral scientists from European public and industrial laboratories. As a general rule, these courses are also open to young scientists coming from all interested laboratories in the world ("young scientist" meaning that they are at least enrolled in a PhD thesis or that they have started their thesis not more than 10 years ago).

The attendance is limited to twenty participants. For admission, a Selection Panel will evaluate the candidates on the basis of scientific excellence and importance of the course for the actual scientific work of the candidate.
