SCOPE

_______

With the effects of climate change becoming more obvious and catastrophic each year, reducing our reliance on fossil fuel and developing renewable energies is essential. However, significant challenges remain, especially in the generation, storage and conversion of renewable energy. These challenges must be addressed before a wide-spread adoption of renewable energy in industry is possible.

This microsymposium is focused on the investigation of materials and processes dealing with the production of fuels and energy by more sustainable sources, including renewable energy sources, conversion of CO2, use and transport of hydrogen. During the symposium we will hear recent advances in the different fields, fostering discussions between different groups and ESRF staff, likely making steps forward towards a greener society.
