Overview

BM29 is the dedicated BioSAXS beamline at the ESRF, primarily used for the characterisation of biological macromolecules in solution. Following the ESRF-EBS upgrade project, BM29 has been significantly upgraded and refurbished.

Sample exposure units and sample loading


SEU2A - standard exposure unit

  • Typical sample environment is a 1 mm quartz capillary.
  • Sample exposure temperature from 4°C to 50°C.
  • Compatible with automated sample changer robot and HPLC set up.
    • Sample changer 
      • Minimum/maximum sample volume - 10 - 100 ul
      • Sample storage temperature range - 5 - 50 ºC
      • PCR strips and 96 well plates available to be used in sample changer.
    • HPLC
      • Minimum/maximum sample volume - 5 - 100 ul
      • Sample storage temperature range - 5 - 25 ºC
      • Manual injection port also available - 5 ml maximum.
  • Fully integrated with BSXCuBE3.
