ESRF/Linux - Red Hat Enterprise Linux Management Scheme
ESRF/Linux is not yet another Linux distribution but a version management scheme that contributes to the application level run-time stability at the ESRF.
ESRF/Linux defines how Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 WS and Red Hat Enterpise Linux 5 based target systems are automatically deployed using IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager for OS Deployment servers.
It also address the problems of how the application level development is done on compiler farm servers and how to best address exceptional problems such as special kernels and an urgent need of corporate-wide system patching.
Available documents:
- ESRF/Linux (specification, PDF)
- Red Hat KickStart CD-ROM Juke-Box Server How To (no IBM Tivoli required)
