First EXAFS users welcomed at BM23

The ESRF public EXAFS (extended X-ray absorption fine structure) beamline formerly based at BM29 has relocated to BM23. BM29 was shut down in May 2010, and in March 2011 the first users were welcomed at BM23. The first user group studied the local structure of the simplest system among the newly discovered Fe-based superconducting materials, iron-chalcogenides. Commissioning will continue in parallel to user service. More than 50 users have requested BM23 for the next scheduling period.
