- Liquid sample changer coupled to a flow-through capillary cell
Liquid sample changer coupled to a flow-through capillary cell
Liquid sample changer
Sample changer coupled to the temperature controlled flow-through cell
This setup is based on a 28 port cheminert stream selector (Valco Instruments). It enables loading 25 samples simultaneously, selecting them remotely and transfering to the flow-through capillary cell (quartz, ID 2 mm and OD 2.1 mm). The capillary can be cleaned and dried in between successive measurements. This capillary cell is operated with minimum air gap and it is temperature controlled by a Peltier stage (the range about 5 to 80 °C ).
In addition, different types of capillary cells are available for standard measurements. One made from bio-compatible polycarbonate with a wall-thickness of either 0.1 mm or 0.05 mm and a diameter of 2.0 mm. The second type is made of quartz or borosilicate capillaries, with a range of different diameters (1.0 mm - 2.0 mm). The flow-through cell allows accurate measurements of sample and solvent scattering of low scattering liquid samples and obtain reliable background subtraction.
