High pressure cell
Details about the high pressure cell
The high pressure cell with diamond windows can operate from 1 - 1500 bar using water as the transmitting medium. Using a high force piezo stack (Piezo Systems Jena), a small volume (~30 ml) is dynamically compressed to reach a pressure up to 1 kbar in less than 1 ms. Further details about the setup can be found in the following reference. A modified version of this cell is now available that can also pre-compress the sample with a motorized pump.
