SAXS furnaces

Two SAXS-WAXS dedicated furnaces were developed in-house together with SIMaP (Science et Ingénierie des Matériaux et Procédés) colleagues. They can be installed on a translational motorized stage inside a vacuum vessel. These furnaces work in a transmission geometry and have different opening diameters for scanning larger samples.

The first one has an aperture of 4 mm and can heat up to 900 °C (Figure 1).
The second one has an opening of 25 mm and can heat up to 500 °C (Figure 2).

A Nanodac station controls the temperature measured by thermocouples connected to the sample holder.
