Fast shutter realignment
Realignment of fast shutter
Fast shutter in BioSAXS is a rotating hole, which can occasionally be misaligned. Here it is described how to correct this.
After an electrical cut, or just mysteriously, the fast shutter can be misaligned with respect to X-ray beam and data collection becomes impossible. There is a simple way to verify if it is the case:
- put fluorescent screen after fast shutter into the beam: spec EXP> yagdin;
- open Experimental hutch camera viewer here;
- open safety shutter: button in BsxCuBE, or write 'shopen' in spec EXP;
- open fast shutter: EXP> msopen, you should see a clear light on the fluorescent screen, close it: EXP> msclose, no light;
- EXP> yagdout to take the fluorescen screen out of the beam.
If it is not the case, fast shutter has to be realigned: use alignment script (home search doesn't need beam)
- EXP> home_triggered_fast_shutter
Test (msopen/msclose and ct) if behaving correctly.
Note that Fast shutter is during 'normal' operation in triggered mode (BTRIG 0 or 1 from MUSST), concequently if you want to move it as a motor (mv, dscan etc. in SPEC) one should take it out from this mode: EXP> disable_triggered_fast_shutter
Once you finish to play with 'sh' set it in position 0 (open) and put motor back into triggered mode: EXP> enable_triggered_fast_shutter
