EBS-workshop on X-ray Emission Spectroscopy
The aim of the workshop is to bring scientists together who use wavelength dispersive optics in the hard X-ray range for photon-in/photon-out spectroscopy. Several beamlines at the ESRF have added X-ray emission spectroscopy (XES) to their portfolio and further installations are planned with EBS. A new instrument on ID26 is optimized for tender XES and ID24 will combine a 1-micron beam with XES. We would like to discuss applications and the theory of XES and instrumentation for wavelength dispersive optics. This also covers high energy resolution fluorescence detected (HERFD) X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES), resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) as well as X-ray absorption spectroscopy using laboratory instruments. We are looking for feedback from the user community concerning pertinent applications that require further instrumental development (e.g. sample environment, time and spatial resolution).
