COST SYRA3 First Training School on radiation therapy, biology and dosimetry

The first multidisciplinary school on “Radiation Therapy with Synchrotron Radiation” will be organized at the ESRF, Grenoble on May 19-21, with a welcome session on 18th evening. The school is financed by the “SYRA3”- TD1205 COST Action (www.syra3.eu). It is open to all scientists and medical doctors; it is expected to be of particular benefit to Early Stage Researchers (PhD+8 years).
SCOPE
Three main subjects will be dealt in this first edition:
- Biology and medicine of X-ray radiation therapy
- Dosimetry and image guidance
- Dose enhancement effects
The school will consist of theoretical and practical sessions at the beamlines.
PARTICIPATION FEES
Participation is free and open to everybody interested.
PARTICIPATION GRANTS
Grants for 15 participants from COST Countries (Cost-Countries) to cover travel + local costs are available via the SYRA3 COST Action. Priority will be given to Early Stage Researchers (researchers who received their PhD after May 2006).
The applicant should send an email by March 31st, 2014:
a) A short motivation letter (max 1 page)
b) CV including also the name of up to 2 former supervisors.
The decision about the grant approval will be communicated by April 15th, 2014.

POSTER SESSION
All participants, especially the grantees, are cordially invited to bring posters describing their own work.
The will be displayed the first evening during the welcome reception.
Particpants are requested to send their poster title via the online registration. (see registration page)
There will be a poster prize!
