Proposal Types & Deadlines

At the ESRF there are three different types of beamtime access:

Peer-reviewed public beamtime access on ESRF and/or Collaboration Research Group (CRG) beamlines; these pages are dedicated to this type of access.
Peer-reviewed private CRG beamtime access on CRG beamlines only, see our CRG-dedicated pages.
Purchased commercial beamtime access on ESRF or CRG beamlines, see our Industry-dedicated pages.

Peer-Reviewed Public Beamtime Access

The proposal call deadlines for Standard, BAG and MX-BAG proposals are 1^st March and 10^th September, at 5pm CET (Central European Time).

The proposal call deadline for Long Term Project and HUB proposals is 15^th January, at 5pm CET (Central European Time).

If these dates fall on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, the deadline is moved to the following Monday. Please refer to the table below for the year 2024.

The proposal call for MX-Rolling proposals is continuous.

The experiment report submission dates given below are the latest dates to submit an experiment report supporting a new proposal. Otherwise, reports should be submitted within 3 months of the experiment end date.

Standard Proposals

Summary	Request for public beamtime over a period of up to 3 years on ESRF or CRG beamlines, for projects with and identifiable benefit to the ESRF user community.
